5/2008 - Nepal - Goodbye party with friends. Goodbyes stink
Time is a blur around here. Just a few weeks left and Jameson #3 arrives. WOW. Ryan's mom is coming in on Friday. Having never been out of the country before this is quite a leap for her. We're proud. :-)

4/2008 - Nepal - Elijah probably about to get into something.
Today, like most, was crazy. Chandra had work, a doctors appointment, and got to spend time with some friends. Ryan worked, went to the hospital with Chandra, said goodbye to a friend over lunch, had dinner with the youth worship band and brought everyone back to the house with a few boxes of ice cream and a bunch of things to mix it with. Chandra's "girl time" girls cleaned up the remainder of the sweets. Ryan worked for a while, and escorted the girls back to their place. We love being involved with the community here. Ryan loves working with the students and is constantly talking about them and what a blessing it is to be a part of their lives. "Hi Mr. J", "Hi Mrs. Jameson...", "Namaste", "Jamashee" ... those are the daily greetings we have grown so fond of. It is really neat working at a school. It is amazing to experience a completely different culture. It's so obvious how much God loves Nepal.

So as you know only a few weeks before baby boy Jameson #3 (whose name we have picked but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share yet) arrives. God has blessed our family tremendously and Chandra's healthy pregnancy is one of many ways. We pray that this will continue and there are no complications. It was a tough decision to have our child here, but we are at peace with it.

5/2008 - Nepal - Youth worship band for the last year, more goodbyes.
So what's new? Well, there are many things. Not only is the baby coming, and Ryan's mom visiting, but we are moving to a different place. A lot of people are leaving. One family from America have been good friends since we arrived, but they are heading back to the U.S. at the end of next month. So what better way to remember them then to move into their place? Ryan has had two of his closest friends leave in May. One hopes to return. They all need prayer. School is in the 4th and final term so many families are leaving. Many long time families. We will miss many but we try to be happy about the folks that are staying. Ryan is losing more than half the worship band he works with. Things just never stop changing and here it is so evident.

4/2008 - Nepal - Lijah likes getting into things, literally.
Nepal is now officially governed by the Maoist party. They recently cut back the load shedding and claimed to have uncovered a scheme where folks were getting paid to turn off the power. Who knows? We wonder if it may not have been their own folks and they decided "exposing" it would make them look good. Don't think the U.S. is immune, it just isn't so blatant there.

5/2008 - Alicia is quite the builder.
The kids are just so fun. Alicia is still catching bugs. Elijah is growing so fast. In a few short months Alicia will start kindergarten. Can you believe it?

Anyway, there are more things to mention. We have some ministry decisions to make in the next few months, so may God guide us with His wisdom. A new baby should make us step back a little. So we just need to know what to tackle and what to postpone. A new helper will be joining the family after the move. We pray that we can be a blessing to her and that she fits in well around the house. Our friends that are leaving highly recommended her. We've explained it before but just so you know helpers or didis (didi means older sister) are common in ministry families. We bless her by employing her, she blesses us by taking care of the house and many of the difficulties of things here. She is like a part of the family and it's a great chance to continue to develop our language skills and cultural sensitivity. Even in our own house.

4/2008 - Nepal - Chandra's singing group.

4/2008 - Nepal - Wrestling practice..
Gosh there really is a lot to talk about but we mostly want to tell you what a blessing your love for us has been. We are incredibly blessed to have friends like you folks. Friends that stand by us, pray for us, and trust God's power in our lives. We love working with you! Thank you.

8/2006 - Colorado Springs
God is willing, and in the spring of 2007, our family relocated indefinitely to Kathmandu, Nepal. There we serve at a school and have begun to learn the language and culture of a country in transition.

Nepal's transition is not just political, it is spiritual as well. The vast majority of the country, 95%+ depending on who you ask, is a combination of Hindu and Buddhist. The last 50 years have seen tremendous progress in this Country and we want to continue that work.

The school we spoke of earlier needs our help. Ryan serves teaching IT. Chandra is helping as the primary secretary, but with the kids so young it will not be full time for her.

So here is where you come in. The spiritual climate in the whole region wears heavily on Christians here. One couple we met, whose kids graduated from the school, have been there for over 15 years. They have encountered a lot of challenges, but are still going strong. We believe with them that it takes a foundation of spiritual support to free us to succeed. It is a principle God put in place, that we are truly a body. It is our hope that every one of you will pray for us as often as possible in the years and hopefully decades to come.

Matthew 6:21 - "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

The school cannot pay us to work. Most of the students come from missionary families that survive themselves on the shoulders of their supporters. So we are asking for you to consider allocating some of your treasure to support us. We realize many of you are not in such a position, for you we ask that you pray for us as though you had given us your treasures. If you do support us financially, please pray for us like you have given all you have. Sincere spiritual support is the key to long term missionaries and their success. It is only in believing the Matthew 6:21 (above) and 1 Corinthians 12:12 (the body of Christ) principles that I can rebuke my own pride and ask you to be our partners. Please allow us to climb on your shoulders and go to Nepal to contribute our talents to the move of God there.

The students are nearly all children of nearby ministers involved in medicine, church planting, education, and more. We consider it an honor to help empower these families to stay longer and do more. It will take us years to learn the culture well enough to even begin to communicate well with the locals. So we consider it a double blessing to be in a position to be fruitful as soon as our feet hit the ground. We love the people of Nepal, and we have every intention of being part of local ministry to nationals. It's just great that we can step into this support role immediately. Praise the Lord.

Psalm 50:10 - "...for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills."

We believe the principle of Psalm 50:10. God owns everything. He can and will provide for us. We just hope to some degree that you, our brothers and sisters, will be the vessels He uses. In that way we will be part of the vine, exactly where God wants us. Leaning on God and you to achieve things we could never do alone.
