3/2010 - Kathmandu, Nepal - March is a month of birthdays for the Jamesons starting with Alicia's. Her best friends came over for cake and a trip to a play place.
Hello again!

Yesterday (April 2nd) was the third anniversary of our arrival in Kathmandu. God has come through in every way necessary, even in our own weaknesses. We know that we definitely have some sincere prayer warriors petitioning God on our behalf because we really can see the blessings.

We sent an email update last month so this month it's the website's turn. If you'd like to receive both updates please sign up in the space at the upper left of this site for the email updates as well. Chandra and Ryan take turns with them.

2/2010 - Kathmandu, Nepal - Change is on the horizon, and it looks like this.

After three years in Kathmandu there is definitely a lot of transition on the horizon. The baby girl that's on the way will be our second born in Nepal, so God willing that will be good, but what is changing is Ryan's role here. More to come soon, but we leave you with a picture hint of what God has in store for us as we continue to follow Jesus in Nepal.

02/2010 - Kathmandu, Nepal - Micah surfing the net. Ok, seriously power was probably out and the computer was probably off.
On the other hand we have been very busy wrapping up some big projects at the school. Ryan & Chandra have teamed up with a few other staff members to tackle KISC's data management. Chandra has headed up the effort of consolidating information from dozens of different locations and getting them saved in the database that Ryan has set up for school. Parallel to working on the new venture God has laid before us there is a lot to do to end well with KISC. Any given evening, sometimes till late hours, and even early morning, Ryan can be found building tools to produce class schedules, student transcripts, phone trees, disaster response systems, and even notifications of birthdays and the school lunch menu. The list is long but we hope to finish this project strong. Leaving KISC with tools that they do not have to pay for and that will serve them for years to come. Please pray that these projects will bless KISC and the other volunteers that work there.

1/2010 - Kathmandu, Nepal - The nest.
This break has afforded the opportunity for Chandra to begin "nesting" a bit. Our baby girl with an awesome name is coming soon and we've already rearranged rooms. We're even ready for Ryan's mother to come in June for the middle July due date. It sounds like we're ahead so far, but time goes so fast here all we do is blink and we're half way through 2010. So many things to do has that effect.

3/2010 - Kathmandu, Nepal - Finally got a picture of one of these beasts! They seldom come out in the day time, but I finally got a picture of a tiger! Don't worry there was some water between us and I was hidden well.
Our children are still blossoming in ways we could only hope for. We mentioned God's promise of great kids here and not only are our own kids fantastic, but other people's kids that we have the privilege to see at our house every week are also great. We just said bye to one of them last week. It is a reality in this community that people do come and go. We gain so much when we meet them and feel like we've lost a lot when they leave. However, the memories stay.

12/2009 - Kathmandu, Nepal - 3rd annual boxing day, capture-the-flag, potluck, pray-over-the city, from a ridge overlooking the Kathmandu Valley.

Speaking of memories, Easter weekend is very exciting! Spending time with our Nepali congregation this morning, and tomorrow we get to celebrate with many of our bideshi (foreigner) friends. We are truly blessed, and it is by God's grace, and often through your faithfulness that we have succeeded thus far. As you pray for us it is our prayer that each of you are blessed in your own ministries. We are all missionaries in some way, and we also praise God for your work and the things you do, where you are right now.

Thanks for your friendship.

8/2006 - Colorado Springs
God is willing, and in the spring of 2007, our family relocated indefinitely to Kathmandu, Nepal. There we serve at a school and have begun to learn the language and culture of a country in transition.

Nepal's transition is not just political, it is spiritual as well. The vast majority of the country, 95%+ depending on who you ask, is a combination of Hindu and Buddhist. The last 50 years have seen tremendous progress in this Country and we want to continue that work.

The school we spoke of earlier needs our help. Ryan serves teaching IT. Chandra is helping as the primary secretary, but with the kids so young it will not be full time for her.

So here is where you come in. The spiritual climate in the whole region wears heavily on Christians here. One couple we met, whose kids graduated from the school, have been there for over 15 years. They have encountered a lot of challenges, but are still going strong. We believe with them that it takes a foundation of spiritual support to free us to succeed. It is a principle God put in place, that we are truly a body. It is our hope that every one of you will pray for us as often as possible in the years and hopefully decades to come.

Matthew 6:21 - "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

The school cannot pay us to work. Most of the students come from missionary families that survive themselves on the shoulders of their supporters. So we are asking for you to consider allocating some of your treasure to support us. We realize many of you are not in such a position, for you we ask that you pray for us as though you had given us your treasures. If you do support us financially, please pray for us like you have given all you have. Sincere spiritual support is the key to long term missionaries and their success. It is only in believing the Matthew 6:21 (above) and 1 Corinthians 12:12 (the body of Christ) principles that I can rebuke my own pride and ask you to be our partners. Please allow us to climb on your shoulders and go to Nepal to contribute our talents to the move of God there.

The students are nearly all children of nearby ministers involved in medicine, church planting, education, and more. We consider it an honor to help empower these families to stay longer and do more. It will take us years to learn the culture well enough to even begin to communicate well with the locals. So we consider it a double blessing to be in a position to be fruitful as soon as our feet hit the ground. We love the people of Nepal, and we have every intention of being part of local ministry to nationals. It's just great that we can step into this support role immediately. Praise the Lord.

Psalm 50:10 - "...for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills."

We believe the principle of Psalm 50:10. God owns everything. He can and will provide for us. We just hope to some degree that you, our brothers and sisters, will be the vessels He uses. In that way we will be part of the vine, exactly where God wants us. Leaning on God and you to achieve things we could never do alone.
